Smart Blogger Weekly Newsletter #6

In this issue of the Smart Blogger Weekly Newsletter, we're going over the ingredients of great content, punching up our writing skills, and possibly slaying a fire-breathing dragon or two.

Let's jump in.

RECENTLY: FROM AROUND THE WEB

RECENTLY: FROM SMART BLOGGER

Smart Blogger published three new articles last week. Check them out:

NOT SO RECENTLY

DEAL OF THE WEEK

When people ask me for reading material that'll help them improve their writing, I point them to sites like Enchanting Marketing, Copyblogger, and, yes, Smart Blogger.

But when someone asks me for an app or tool, Grammarly is the one I recommend most.

Its free version helps you with spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in Word, Google Docs, emails, and even social media. And its premium version for $12/month catches advanced grammar and punctuation mistakes, while providing suggestions for improving sentence structure, word choice, and readability.

True, if you're a polished writer, you don't really need it. Grammarly is a more of a "nice to have" for such individuals.

But if your writing is rough around the edges…

Or if you want to save time proofreading and editing your work…

Or if you're a student or professional who lives and dies by written communication and simply doesn't want to take any chances…

Grammarly could make a lot of sense.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Heideli Loubser is a Smart Blogger Certified Content Marketer, direct-response copywriter, and content marketing strategist who helps health professionals and coaches grow their business.

To read some of Heideli's writing, check out her blog, Homeschooler's Life, and her recent Smart Blogger article, 8 Freelance Writing Job Boards to Find Great Writing Gigs (2021).

THIS WEEK'S CONTEXT-FREE QUOTE

"Imagine sitting down to watch a movie called 'Space Station Alpha' and discovering that the first scene showed a wizard and a dwarf battling a dragon."

Two questions:

One, how much money would you pay to watch such a movie? (The correct answer is "all of the money." Make it happen, Hollywood.)

And, two, can you guess which Smart Blogger article this quote comes from?
